About me

I made my first quilt in 1977 with fabric that was bought at stalls in Empangeni. This quilt did not last very long! During 1978 I did my first patchwork course and made a quilt with “real/proper” fabric. After this I was hooked.

I have been teaching patchwork and quilting since 1987. I have taken many classes with local and overseas teachers and I am still learning every day. During 2010 I attended the Birmingham Quilt Festival in the UK and attended lectures and classes with Sandra Meech, Alicia Merrett, Elizabeth Barton and others.

I recently started experimenting with innovative embellishments and art quilts.

I served as chairlady of the Good Hope Quilters’ Guild and am currently the chairlady of the Jacaranda Quilters’ Guild in Pretoria. I was on the Festival Committees for the 1994, 2002 and the 2011 Quilt Festivals.

My work has been exhibited locally and internationally.
