Dubai International Quilt Show

I was invited to judge the Dubai International Quilt Show at the end of March 2014. A big variety of quilts were entered and we judged 150 pieces from 15 countries across 5 continents. I had the great privilege to judge with Ricky Timms from America which was an absolute treat. The prizes were handed out at a gala evening held at the Grand Excelsior Hotel and Marlene Turner, from South Africa, won the best of show. I also taught for two days on ‘Freestyle Embellishing Techniques and ‘fabric weaving’. Other teachers attending were Cindy Needham and Debbie Brown. Both from America. The Dubai Guild was excellent hosts and we did some very exciting sightseeing in Dubai, the surrounding desert and Abu Dhabi. The Dubai Quilt Show is held every 2 years and rapidly growing.
